What is it? Perspectives Tour is an educational trip to Israel and Palestine for students at SFSU. The purpose of this trip is to educate 25 undergraduates about Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; offer students an experience to shape their own opinions through travel and encounters; and intentionally explore the region's complexities.
Some things you might see, learn, and do:
Explore the multi-ethnic, religious, and national diversity of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Visit Ramallah, the current capital of the Palestinian Authority, and hear from Palestinian leaders and locals.
Discover how conflict affects environmental concerns in the Dead Sea Valley.
Walk the streets of Jaffa, near Tel Aviv, for a Palestinian and Israeli perspective on this old & new city.
Hear multiple narratives from a wide variety of speakers and guests, including religious, secular, Druze, Christian, Jewish-Israeli, Palestinian, and Muslim voices.
Tour and learn about the separation barrier/security wall that divides Israel and the West Bank.
Enjoy delicious cuisine, hike in the beautiful desert, and build community with a diverse group of fellow SFSU students.

How much does it cost? This tour is heavily subsidized, requiring a $250 refundable deposit. All flights, hotels, and travel during the trip are covered, as well as at least 2 meals a day (students will have some lunch- and dinner-times free to explore on their own).
Who is eligible? Current undergraduate students at SFSU who are not in their last year of classes. How do I apply? Applications are now closed for Perspectives Tour 2020. Future interested students should fill out our interest form located here.
What happens after I apply? After we receive your application, we'll reach out and set time with you for an in-person conversation to get to know you better and make sure you're ready for the Perspectives Tour. Applicants will be informed of their acceptance in early November.
Besides the trip itself, what else am I committing to when I accept my seat on the Perspectives Tour? We require Perspectives Tour participants to attend three mandatory pre-trip orientations in San Francisco (dates TBD, in November and early December), two post-trip gatherings and hosting a follow-up program during the spring semester.
