Description: Creators Track is for students that want to make Jewish experiences fun, meaningful, relevant to today’s world and accessible for those don’t know what they’re all about. You want to get to the core of what it all means and build opportunities for your campus community to celebrate, reflect, learn and be together. Creators Track participants will sign up to own our community Shabbat dinners, 21+ Tisches, Havdallah experiences or Snapchat Shabbatot. As a cohort, together you’ll own the production (and reinterpretation) of our Jewish holidays and on-campus events. You’ll work with your mentor one on one and as a group to get the development you need to grow and design successful Jewish experiences.
Requirements:
You’ll be successful if: you are able to preserve what we all love about Jewish traditions and innovate to make it better and fresher. You’re able to incorporate new learnings and refreshing ideas into experiences for your community, you can think outside the box to create new ways for students to connect to Judaism, and you make doing Jewish ritual fun.
Stipends: Each Creators Track participant who successfully completes their track requirements will receive a professional development stipend of $500 at the conclusion of the academic year, to be used for their continued growth.
Ideal Candidate Profile: You're excited to learn about the why behind Jewish ritual and practice, and are able to bring a creative, fresh perspective to the planning process. You aren't afraid to try something that's never been done before, you're able to keep track of tasks necessary to execute your vision (or willing to learn how!) and connect current trends and content to ancient wisdom.
Application process: Applications for the 2020-2021 academic year will open in Spring 2020. For more information, email Emily.
Requirements:
- Summer Learning: Creators Track participants agree to be available for two learning sessions, hosted online over summer break (dates TBD.)
- Design Tribe Retreats: Creators Track participants agree to attend a mandatory on-boarding retreat (tentative date: September 7th - 9th, 2019) and a mandatory mid-year retreat (date TBD, January 2020). Travel and accommodations will be provided by SF Hillel.
- Mentorship meetings: Creators Track participants agree to schedule and attend one cohort meeting per month and one mentorship meeting per month.
