The Communications and Marketing Track is for students who are excited to work behind the scenes at Hillel, ensuring our SF Hillel story is shared across an assortment of platforms. You have an eye for design and a passion for using different platforms to work smarter not harder. The idea of creating enticing social media graphics, informative newsletters, and drafting meaningful letter appeals makes you eager to dive into the work of this track immediately. You’ll work on different projects supporting our marketing needs, from student programming to big fundraising efforts and everything in between.

You’ll be successful if: You’ll be successful if: you can commit to at least 6 hours per week of regularly scheduled hours dedicated to creating marketing materials, you can execute on assigned tasks efficiently, you are passionate about learning new skills, you have an eye for creative marketing and are open to following brand guidelines, you pay close attention to detail and carry yourself professionally.
Expectations
- Technologically Savvy: join the team with an eagerness to learn and master a variety of social media, graphic design, and project management platforms including, but not limited to:
- Social media: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook
- Mailchimp
- Canva
- Monday.com
- Adobe InDesign
- Photoshop
- Brand Management: serve as the SF Hillel brand manager, ensuring all of SF Hillel’s marketing aligns with our overall brand goals. Bonus if you have an eye for design and a passion for creating graphics that follow brand guidelines.
- Telling Our Story: work alongside our professional team to tell the story of our organization, drafting and creating videos for social media and brainstorming and proofreading letter appeals.
Trainings/Commitments
- Attend mandatory fall and spring leadership retreats. More details to follow.
- Mentorship: 1 hour, 1-on-1 supervision meeting bi-weekly with your Hillel mentor where you will receive personal and professional development
- Comms. & Marketing Meetings: Potential weekly meetings with SF Hillel staff for alignment and project delegation
