The Leadership Track will help shape the future of SF Hillel and represent your campus by serving on our Board of Directors. As a non-profit organization, SF Hillel’s board governs, fundraises and helps set the long-term direction for our organization. Each year, a student from SF State, USF, UC Hastings, and UCSF serve as campus representatives on the board. You will meet and work with influential community leaders, develop and assist capacity-building activities, vote on organizational decisions, and share student perspectives – all while developing your resume and learning how a non-profit organization works.

Expectations
  • Responsible Leadership: serve as an organizational ambassador on behalf of the organization, equally in student and Jewish communal spaces.
  • Make Informed Decisions: participate in board and mentorship activities to be able to discuss and vote on issues for SF Hillel.
  • Represent: articulate and advocate for the needs and issues facing your peers and campus to the board and broader community.
  • Support Hillel: contribute a meaningful annual gift to SF Hillel, and be willing to assist the organization in fundraising and capacity-building activities.

Trainings/Commitments
  • Attend mandatory fall and spring leadership retreats. More details to follow.
  • Mandatory Board of Directors retreat. More details to follow.
  • Attend 6 board meetings on Monday evening throughout the year
  • Mentorship Meeting: 1 hour, 1-on-1 supervision meeting every other month with your Hillel mentor, where you will receive personal and professional development.

You’ll be successful if: You like thinking “Big Picture” and are interested in the long-term success of SF Hillel, both at your school and across the city. You’re available Monday nights (once per month or less) from 6pm-8.30pm.
